At the core of every creation should be a genuine concern for humanity but that’s not always the case. Some discoveries were purely serendipitous and some were deliberate efforts to solve a personal problem. Whatever the case may have been that birthed anything of value, it amounted to one person’s solution eventually becoming beneficial to the world.
Innovative technology
One of such solutions is innovative technology. Love it or hate it, it is a key part of all of our lives impacting us directly and indirectly. It is almost impossible to live a life where you don’t brush up against technology, for better or worse.
The hyperbolic speed at which technology has evolved and changed every aspect of the world we inhabit is remarkable. Whether it’s jumping into our fully charged electric cars, video calls on the latest smartphone or even enjoying a quintessentially simple cup of tea. We almost can’t relate to a life without the comforts we have experienced through technology; a life that a younger demographic couldn’t even fathom. Technology has made the impossible possible and opened our eyes to limitless opportunities.
The irony is that whilst technology has solved numerous challenges, some problems we arguably never even knew we had, it has also created a wealth of new ones.
From the electricity that it uses and is needed in production, depleting our natural resources, to the plastic, chemical and biological waste that’s now taking over our environment and for certain there are a wealth of problems we have yet to uncover. So we are left with solving a problem we have created which feels insurmountable, but there is hope, all is not lost... yet! If we all endeavour to make a difference, we can continue to reap the benefits technology has to offer but also preserve the planet.
We are not all directly responsible for the negative impact of technology on the environment but we can all contribute to reducing the negative effects they can have, little by little.
Here are some Eco Heroes in the tech space who have shown us how;

Was that applause for these heroes? Well done!
There are countless Eco Heroes in various sectors proving to us every day, that we can fully enjoy the benefits of technology without bringing harm to the environment.
We have chosen to celebrate these few with the hope that you’d think of the environment first, before the ease or convenience that technology affords you, and you’d seek out eco-friendly tech before any other type.
